Obituary for Rosemary A. Carnevale (Nottage)

Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother

Rosemary A. Carnevale, 94, of Rockaway, formerly of Belleville, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023. Born in Newark, NJ, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Elmer and Josephine (Cairo) Nottage. She retired as a secretary for Wells Fargo, Newark. Rosemary was a former member and past president of the Lady’s Elks Auxiliary and the Women’s Club of Nutley. She was a volunteer for Nutley Thrift Shop and Nutley Family Service Bureau. Rosemary, although most knew her as Ro and Grandma Ro, will always be remembered for her Christmas cookies, especially her signature Pignoli Cookies, her passion for the New York Yankees, and her love for her family and dear friends. The beloved wife of the late Jerry C. Carnevale, Rosemary is survived by her children Maria Ferinde and husband Philip, Gary Carnevale, her sister Annabell Morehouse, seven grandchildren Christina Ferinde, Michael Ferinde and wife Emily, Joseph Ferinde, Jennifer Carnevale, Gary Carnevale Jr. and wife Lindsey, Frances Carnevale, and Cali Carnevale, and six great grandchildren Tommy, Patrick, Reagan, Kaitlyn, Savannah, and Stephanie. Along with her husband, Rosemary was predeceased by her son Frank Carnevale and her brother Elmer Nottage.

Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 9am – 11am. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley. The entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
