Obituary for Ruggiero "Roger" A. Pignotti

Ruggiero “Roger” A. Pignotti, 89 of Clifton and formerly of Nutley, passed away on Saturday September 10, 2022. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Ruggiero and Antonetta Pignotti. Roger lived in Nutley before coming to Clifton 18 years ago and was a mail truck driver with the U.S. Postal Service before retiring and was previously a mason with Del Turco Brothers Inc. in Newark. Roger was also a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 3rd Infantry Division, 15th Infantry Regiment, which was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. Roger earned the Combat Infantry Badge, the UN Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze battle stars. He was member of the Old Guard of Nutley and was a devoted husband and father.
Roger was predeceased by his beloved wife, Niva (Michielli) Pignotti and is survived by his son Richard A. Pignotti and wife, Susan and his daughter, Elizabeth Schneider and husband, Scott.

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Tuesday September 20, 2022, at 9 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Nutley at 10 am followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday September 19 from 4-8 pm
