Obituary for Salvatore Sorice
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather
Salvatore Sorice, 88 of Summit NJ passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019. Born in Belleville to the late Carmine and Teresa (Abato) Sorice, he was a lifelong resident of Belleville before recently moving to Summit. Prior to retirement Salvatore was a master carpenter at Sorice, Inc in Nutley, and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed putting on Children’s Magic Shows and was an active member of St. Peter’s Church, and volunteered at their Food Pantry.
The beloved husband of the late Josephine (Serritella) Sorice, he is survived by his brother, Angelo Sorice; his son, Sal J. Sorice, Jr. and his wife, Joanne; his daughter, Deborah Mason and her husband, Scott; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Kelsey, and Courtney; and his great-grandchildren, Connor, Kayla, and Chase.
Visitation will be Friday, September 20, 2019, from 5pm – 8pm at S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Bloomfield on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 9:30am.
For those wishing to join the procession to Mount Olivet Cemetery, please arrive at S.W. Brown & Son Funeral home at 8:45am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Homeside Hospice, 67 Walnut Avenue, Suite 205, Clark, NJ 07066 would be appreciated.
