Obituary for Salvatore F. "Sally Moe" Veneziano

Salvatore F. “Sally Moe” Veneziano, 85 of Nutley, passed away on Friday March 19, 2021. Born in Newark, he was the son of the late Philip and Dora (DiGianni) Veneziano. Mr. Veneziano came to Nutley in 1968. We began his career in 1957 at PSE&G as a draftsman and later a chauffeur for the Chairman of the Board before retiring after 39 years of service. He continued his career of driving for another 10+ years. Sal was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Belleville and the Newark Moose Lodge. He was an avid pinochle player and loved playing briscola. He also enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and the NY Giants Football as well as all youth sports, especially when his grandchildren were playing. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. His family and friends were the most important thing!!
Sal was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda (Cutillo) Veneziano. He is survived by his three children, Debra Suckiel, Vincent Veneziano and his fiancée, Margaret Castellitto and Salvatore Veneziano Jr. and his wife, Renee’. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Kyle Suckiel, Nicolina, Michael & Torre Veneziano as well as loving nieces and nephews. He was the dear brother of the late Victor, Nicolena Spagnuolo, Philip Jr., Vincent, and Richard Veneziano.

Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Tuesday March 23 from 4-7 pm. A Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm. Cremation and committal at Glendale Cemetery will be private.
