Retired route salesman, U.S. Army veteran
Silvio P. Pastena of Montville, passed away on Thursday January 18, 2018. Born in Newark, he was the son of the late Fiore and Anna (Verdicchio) Pastena. Mr. Pastena lived in Bloomfield and Caldwell before coming to Montville in 2004. He was a self-employed route salesman and in retirement was a school bus driver with the Township of Nutley Board of Education. He was also a proud U.S. Army veteran.
Silvio was predeceased by his beloved wife, Theresa (Lemke) Pastena . He is survived by his devoted children, Russell Pastena and his wife, Maria, Dr. Anthony Pastena and Deborah Amoroso and her husband, Paul and his grandchildren, Natalia, Nicholas, Joseph, and Alexa Amororo, Sofia and Daniella Pastena and Arabella Pastena. He also leaves his brother, William and his sister, Josephine Lescavage.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Monday January 22 at 9 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church in Montville at 10:30 am
The interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 pm.
