Loving Wife, Mother & Grandmother
Sophie Jenga Ravinsky, 98 of Pompton Lakes passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019. Born in Newark, the daughter of Adam and Helen (Karaciewicz) Adamowski, she lived in Belleville and Nutey prior to moving to Pompton Lakes 6 years ago.
She retired from RCA in Harrison after over 40 years of service and was a former communicant at St. Mary's Church in Nutley.
The beloved wife of the late Frank Ravinsky, she is survived by her loving daughters, Kathryn Galvao, Linda Richards and Clare Naporano; her brother, Stanley Adams and 5 grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Sophie was also predeceased by her brother, Matthew C. Adams, Frank Adams, Steve Adams, sister Irene G. Adams, and her grandson Christopher Galvao.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley at 9:45 a.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 10:45 a.m.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in No. Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
