Loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Grandfather
Steven J. Bernardo, 96,lifeliong resident of Nutley, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2022.
He was the son of the late Mattia and Rose (Bondanti) Bernardo. Mr. Bernardo was a machinist foreman with Singer Kearfott, in Little Falls for 29 years, he was a member of the Nutley Elks Lodge #1290 and a dedicated member of the Nutley Civic Celebration Committee. He was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy T. (Craney) Bernardo, his brothers Michael Bernardo, Lawrence Bernard, Joseph Bernardi, and Samuel Bernardo, his sisters Christine Mueller and Mary Hoepner. He leaves behind his sons Steven Bernardo, and his wife Janet, and Mattia Bernardo, and his wife Susan, daughters Lorraine Pietroniro and her husband, Nick, and Theresa Wojcik, and her husband Richard. Nine grandchildren Michele Vitale, and her husband Chris, Lisa Bernardo, Patricia Thomas, and her husband Jeff, Danielle Scott, and her husband Kevin, Nicholas Pietroniro, Matthew Bernardo, Amanda Pietroniro, Sean Bernardo, Madison Bernardo and five great grandsons, Anthony, Dominic, Jackson, Parker and Jeremy.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 4-8pm.
The funeral will be Saturday, June 4, at 8:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 9:30am at Holy Family Church, Nutley.
Cremation will be private.
