Thomas P. Mahon, 86, passed away on Sunday April 19, 2020. Born and raised in Kearny, he was the son of the late John Edward and Catherine (Mooney) Mahon. For years he could be found on weekends at his son Kenny’s restaurant, American Bistro, enjoying a steak and a Budweiser with his wife Mary, watching the game and catching up with the staff and patrons. Beloved Uncle Tom...our prayers are with our cousins Tricia, Marybeth, Kenny and Tommy and of course our Aunt Mary. You became the patriarch of the Mahon family and none of us could ever have asked for a more incredible person to look up to all of these years. How blessed we are to have had such examples of love and sacrifice within our family. We have no doubt that your siblings have lined up at the gates of heaven to welcome you home. Much love and peace to the Mahons.

Dear Kenny, Tricia, Marybeth and his beloved Wife Mary, This is so sad, unexpected and an empty void in all of our hearts. Such deep admiration for Toms loyalty and love for his wife, two sons and two daughters will always be a reminder of a time gone by. What I will remember most is Toms huge smile and dry Irish wit. Calm Tom watching his sports while Mary chit chatted with her nice Nutley neighbors. Fond funny memories when I picture them together. It was an honor to know this true ‘Gentle’ man. His worries are no more, Rest well.
