Obituary for Ulysses Rivera
Ulysses Rivera, 48, of Newark, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Born in Newark, NJ, Ulysses was the son of Florentina Munoz and the late Nicholas Rivera. Ulysses is survived by his lifelong partner Elizabeth Vasquez, brother Edwin Rivera, and sisters Caroline Rivera and Cynthia Rivera. He is predeceased by his brother Gustavo Rivera and sister Nancy Rivera.
Ulysses was a warm, funny, compassionate human. He had a passion for reading, Art, boxing, watching classic movies & collecting sports memorabilia. Ulysses was a hands on step dad to Jurika, David & Joel and doting grad-dad to his bonus grandchildren. They went on to adopt 3 beautiful children, Angelia, Julie, & Natalie with a few more along the way, whom he loved as well.
He will me greatly missed.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley on Monday, November 21stfrom 6pm – 8pm, and on Tuesday, November 22nd from 9am – 11am.
The Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22nd at 10am.
The interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.
