Valerie Sente, 95

Valerie (Stecewicz) Sente, a lifelong resident of Nutley, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018.
Born and raised in Nutley, Valerie was the daughter of the late Anthony and Veronica (Lewan) Stecewicz and beloved wife of the late John Sente. She worked at Western Electric in Kearny from 1940 to 1978, beginning her career as a coil assembler for audio phone and sound equipment and working her way up to layout operator/inspector. After retiring, she assisted her sister in running her florist business, Walter's Flowers, on Centre Street. Valerie was a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Woman's Auxiliary and the Nutley Pioneers group. She was predeceased by her sister, Jennie Pedgurski; brothers, Walter, Lou and Edward Stecewicz; and nephew, Edward Stecewicz, Jr.
She is survived by her nieces, Donna Lampe, Susan and Carol Stecewicz; two great-nieces, Dana Lampe and Marlena Torres and her spouse, Vicente; a great-nephew, Michael Lampe; a great-grand nephew, Daniel Concepcion; her stepson, John Sente, Jr. and his spouse, Lee; two granddaughters, Doreen Agnew and her spouse, George, and Christine Gabbard and her spouse, Mark; and three great-grandchildren, Colin, Evan and Nola.

The funeral will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m.

The cremation services and interment at East Ridgelawn Cemetery will be private.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
