Marine Corps Veteran

Victor J. Conti, 88, of Belleville, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018. Born in Glen Ridge, the son of the late Rocco and Rosa Occhinero, he lived in Nutley prior to moving to Belleville 28 years ago.
He retired from the Nutley Board of Education as a Maintenance Administrator. After his retirement, he worked for the Bloomfield Board of Education as a Crossing Guard. Victor was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Denver) Conti; 4 children, Victor Conti, Jr., Debbie Ottiano, Christopher Conti and Allison Carpignano; 7 grandchildren, Nicole and Deanna Wilks, Anthony Ottaino, Victor Conti III, Michael and Corrianne Conti and Lucciona Vocaturo and his great-granddaughters, Leila, Lorelei and Laney Gebhart. He was predeceased by several sisters and brothers.


The funeral will be Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m.

The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
