Vincent P. DeMarco
WWII Veteran and Business Owner
Vincent P. DeMarco, formerly of Venice, Florida, died
peacefully on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in New Jersey, at the age
of 99.
Arrangements are by the S.W. Brown & Son Home for Funerals in
Nutley, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said for
Vincent on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 10:30a.m. at Holy Family
Church, Brookline Avenue, Nutley, N.J. Interment will follow at
Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair, N.J.
Vincent was born in Newark, N.J. and graduated from Barringer
High School. He attended Newark College of Engineering before
obtaining his B.S., in Mechanical Engineering, from Cornell
University. He subsequently was licensed as a Professional
Engineer by the State of New Jersey.
After graduation from college, Vincent enlisted in the U.S.
Navy and served as a Lieutenant, J.G. on the U.S.S. Wyandot (AKA92)
during World War II. While on duty in the Pacific Theater, his
ship sustained severe damage when it was the target of a bombing
attack by an enemy plane.
Following Vincent's honorable discharge from the Navy, he
worked as a mechanical engineer for Carrier Corporation and Trane
Company. He subsequently established Air Comfort Engineering Co.,
Inc., in Bloomfield, N.J., a mechanical engineering firm which
performed commercial and industrial HVAC installations in
churches, offices, schools and hospitals in northern New Jersey.
After the closing of that business, Vincent continued working as
an HVAC consultant to construction management firms, Torcon, Inc.
and Lehrer McGovern Bovis, Inc.
Vincent was predeceased by his wife, Rose (Federico) DeMarco,
by his parents, George A. and Josephine (Grimaldi) DeMarco, and by
his brothers, George, Paul and Victor DeMarco. He is survived by
his children, Marianne M. DeMarco, Patricia DeMarco Rowe (Raymond)
and George V. DeMarco (Judy), his grandsons, Jason R. Rowe (Annie)
and Jonathan R. Rowe (Kaelyn), and his great-grandchildren,
Brielle, Luca, Nathan, Matteo and Gabriel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be
made, in Vincent's name, to a charity of your choice.
