Virginia DeBenedetto, 89 of Nutley, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018. A lifelong resident of Nutley, she was the daughter of the late Rose (Laterza) and James Ferrara. Virginia retired from the Belleville Board of Education where she was a teacher at #5 school.
She is survived by her beloved husband Vincent J. DeBenedetto; her daughter, Carol Cooperman & her husband David; her sister, Phyllis Corbett; her sisters-in-law, Lucy Melchione, Dolly Ferry, Anna Napoli, Dolores Scanzillo; brother-in-law, Anthony De Benedetto; and her grandchildren, Emily, Jessica & Sam Cooperman. She is predeceased by brothers, Louis & James Jr.; her sisters, Elizabeth, Frances, Rose, Josephine & Julia; and her sister-in-law, Terry Linfante.
The funeral will be 8:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral mass will be at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 9:30am.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday 4-8pm.
