Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother
Virginia Adele Hershey, 92, longtime resident of Nutley, N.J., passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 in Bridgewater, N.J. Born in Newark, Virginia was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred (Taylor) Marlatt. “Ginny,” as she was known to family and friends, graduated from Brown University, and worked first as a microbiologist and later as a teacher in Bloomfield. A friend of many, she was a member of the Red Hat Society and American Association of University Women. She was also a long time Sunday school teacher at Vincent United Methodist Church in Nutley. The beloved wife of the late Glenn R. Hershey, Virginia is survived by her daughter Joy Benito and her husband Carlos, and four grandchildren Tina, Carlos, Jessica, and Alyssa. She was predeceased by her daughter Carol Hershey and her brother Ralph Marlatt.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 3:30pm – 6:30pm. Service will be at 6pm.
The interment will be on Friday, December 23rd at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Palmyra, PA.
