Obituary for Vito B. Lacerenza

Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather

Vito B. Lacerenza, 83 of Belleville passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019. Born in Belleville, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Ciccio) Lacerenza, he lived in Newark before moving back to Belleville 43 years ago.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a purchasing agent for Ingersoll Rand, which was previously Worthington Pump, in Harrison. Vito was an Army Veteran, a member of the Belleville Knights of Columbus Council #1008 and a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Nutley.

The beloved husband of the late Vivien (Cacio) Lacerenza, he is survived by his children, Maria Johnson and her husband, Kevin, Nicholas Lacerenza and his wife, Kathy and Vito J. Lacerenza; his grandchildren, Maggie Catherine and Matthew John; 2 sisters, Rita Wever and Bernadette Monahan; a brother, Joseph Lacerenza and many loving nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Along with his parents and his wife, Vito was predeceased by his sister, Sarah Pettineo.

The funeral will be Thursday, September 19, 2019 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley at 9 a.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Nutley at 10 a.m.

The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in No. Arlington.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) would be preferred.
