Obituary for Vito Salvanto
Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Vito Salvanto, 88, formerly of Nutley, passed away Tuesday March 12, 2024. Born in Newark, NJ. Vito was the son of Isabel (Infozino) and Giovanni Salvanto.
Vito was survived by his loving wife 68 years, Norma (Butler) and their five children and their spouses; John Salvanto and his wife Antonia, Elizabeth Petrillo and her husband Steven, William Salvanto and his wife Susan, Richard Salvanto and his wife Maria, Michael Salvanto and his wife Kerry. He was blessed to be a grandfather to Joseph Petrillo and his wife Kara, Alexandra Petrillo, Vito Salvanto, Michael Salvanto, Kylie Salvanto and Gianna Salvanto and a great grandfather to Ryder Petrillo.
Vito is also survived by his brothers John and Anthony and his sister Lucille. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph. Son-in-law to the late Edna Butler (McGrath). Brother-in-Law to the late Lynda Gibbons and the late Richard Butler. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He left Nutley 26 years ago moving to Florida to find his“Paradise”.
Through his many health challenges, he showed strength and bravery. Vito passed surrounded by his loving wife and children. He is beloved and will be missed deeply by many, including a lifetime of friendships.
For Vito, family was always first.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home.(www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley. on Monday, March 18th from 4pm -8 pm.
The funeral will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 9:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home.
The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am at Saint Mary’s Church, Nutley.
The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to either the
National Kidney Foundation or
American Heart Association
