Obituary for Wanda J. Petrow (Dziegielewski)

Wanda (nee Dziegielewski) Petrow (95) passed away on January 24, 2024 in Westfield.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles, in 1969 and later by sister Loretta Komorek. She lived in Newark, Nutley, Bloomfield and Warren. Wanda worked for the Prudential Insurance Company for 40 years before retiring and becoming a member of the Prudential Retired Employees Association. She then began a new career at the Immedicenter in Bloomfield as an X-ray Technician before retiring at the age of 76.

She was a very active communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Nutley as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Wanda loved to travel worldwide, and particularly enjoyed cruises. She loved to go out to restaurants, try new foods, cook and bake.

She will especially be remembered for her "Famous Pistachio Cake". A loving and generous aunt to her nieces, Marianne Salkowski and Micheline Fogli, grandnieces Cynthia Roberts (John), Jill Mehra (Rahul) and Kristin Salkowski, nephew Rick Salkowski, great grandnieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
