Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather
William Christie, 91 of Nutley passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019. Born in Kearny, the son of Morris and Florence (Butler) Christie, he lived in Kearny and Harrison prior to moving to Nutley 46 years ago.
Prior to his retirement William was a carpenter with The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local #15 in Harrison, NJ. He was a proud Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War as well as a member of V.F.W. Post #439 in Nutley.
The beloved husband of the late Jean Marie (Cronin) Christie, he is survived by his children, Ellen Christie and Edward Christie and his wife, Christine and 3 grandchildren, Grace, William and Judith Christie.
The funeral will be Thursday, August 8, 2019 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley at 8:30 a.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Gary Sinise Foundation (www.garysinisefoundation.org/) would be appreciated.
