Loving Wife, Mother Grandmother & Great-Grandmother

Doris Hollander, 90, of Duxbury, MA, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Born in East Orange, the daughter of Harry Irving and Mabel (Nearing) Russell, she lived in Belleville, NJ most of her life, and part-time in Brewster, MA prior to moving to Duxbury, MA.
After her husband Jim died she went to work for New Jersey Bell as a Circuit Layout Assigner, designing the wiring schema for new business lines. She retired from Verizon in 1995, working in several offices over her 22 years, as a proud member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).
She finally bought her own Cape Cod get-away in 1997. She spent her retirement joyfully splitting time between Brewster, with the grandchildren on the Cape, and Belleville, with the grandchildren in New Jersey.
She decided to move to assisted living in Duxbury MA, in 2015. Her daughters were thrilled to have her half-way between them. She took full advantage of all the activities: painting, drawing, flower arranging, music and exercise classes, as well as attending weekly worship services, concerts and museum trips.

Predeceased by her husbands, James Walter Hollander in 1969 and Walter Cochrane in1997; she is survived by her children, Barb Hollander-Essig and her husband, Chuck, James W. Hollander, and Candace Kosturko and her husband, Bob; her grandchildren, Matthew Hollander-Essig and his wife, Christina, Jenna McIntyre and her husband, Pablo Cohan, Nathaniel Hollander-Essig, Tessa Bhaskaran and her husband, Ashwin, Bethany Hollander, and James W. Hollander III and her great grandchildren, Harper and Hudson Hollander-Essig, Casey, Sophie and Shea Cohan, and Rosalyn Hollander-Essig.
