Research & Development Scientist for Hoffman Le Roche

Eleuterio S. Berano, 84, of Nutley, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home. Born in Cuartero, Capiz, Philippines, the son of the late Pio and Concepcion (Sanchez) Berano, he lived in the Philippines and Jersey City prior to moving to Nutley 41 years ago. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Research & Development Formulation Scientist with Hoffman La Roche in Nutley.
Eleuterio was a member of the Roche Retirees, a member and past Vice-President of Fil-Am Association in Jersey City and the Filipino Apostolate at Holy Family Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Araceli (Mestido) Berano; his children, Maria McCafferty and her husband, Robert, Teresa Goldenberg and her husband, Nick, Arvin Berano and his wife, Kristina and Eleuterio Ray Berano and his wife, Paola and his grandchildren, Madison, Nikayla, Elijah, Marley and Bobby. He was predeceased by a sister and 3 brothers.

The funeral will be Monday, October 15th at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m.

The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in No. Arlington.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Holy Family Church Restoration Fund, 28 Brookline Avenue, Nutley, NJ 07110 would be preferred.
