Obituary for Albert "Liberato" D’Amico

Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather
Albert “Liberato” D’Amico, of Nutley, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017. Born in San Massimo, Abruzzo, Italy, the son of Dolores (Lorella) & Giovanni D’Amico, he lived in East Orange and Irvington prior to moving to Nutley 53 years ago.
Liberato was a tailor and the owner of Al’s Custom Tailors in Newark which was formerly Amato Tailors. He was an avid bowler and a member of the St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus Council #2346 in Nutley.
The beloved husband of the late Lillian R. (Amato) D’Amico and father of the late John D’Amico, he is survived by his daughters, Dolores Micone, Elvira D’Amico, Rita Ippolito & her husband, Salvatore and Lisa Klemovitch & her husband, Philip; 6 grandchildren, Antoinette, Marie, Lillian, Anthony, Arianna & Rachel and his great-grandson, Michael. He was also predeceased by his brother, Dominic.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
