Carletto “Carlo” Lamenta was born in Campodipietra, Campobasso, Italy on May 1, 1957, he moved to Orange, NJ at the age of 15. Embraced by his family who soon helped to raise him, Carlo learned his trade from his cousin and went on to become a well-respected master tile man and contractor. Carlo met the love of his life Antonietta at a friend’s wedding and together they enjoyed dancing, dinners, and many trips. They were blessed with three adoring sons; Santino, John Anthony, and Carletto, Jr. Carlo happily passed on his talent and taught his sons to be almost as skilled as he was. Carlo’s true joy came from being a grandfather to his beautiful granddaughters, Brianna, Arianna, Gabriella, Giavanna, & Julianna. Carlo was the life of any party he attended and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will forever be remembered and truly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Antonietta (Costa) Lamenta; three sons, Santino Lamenta & his wife, Leah, John Anthony Lamenta & his wife, Ashley and Carletto Lamenta, Jr. & his wife, Elizabeth and his grandchildren, Brianna, Arianna, Gabriella, Giavanna & Julianna. He is also the brother of Michelina Di Genova & the late Saverio Lamenta; the nephew of Emilia Lamenta and the cousin of Josephine Ciatti & her husband, Fernando. Carlo was also survived by his cherished mother-in-law, Giuseppa Costa.
The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church in Lyndhurst at 10 a.m.
The interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
