Loving Wife, Mother & Grandmother
Our beloved Carmen S. Langberg passed away on December 22, 2017 in Cliffside Park, New Jersey after a brief struggle with cancer. Carmen was born on January 17th, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of George Hamilton and Francis Kniffin Stanley.
By the age of 17, she was an accomplished musician, having earned multiple state-wide excellence recognition awards for piano soloist in the state of Illinois. She went on to attend Northwestern University and the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She subsequently earned a Master of Arts in Music from Columbia University.
Carmen had a 32 year professional career at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ. She admired her unique colleagues and considered it a second home. She enjoyed travelling and spent many summer vacations exploring Europe. She most of all loved spending time with her family. Carmen is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ralph Langberg, her two children, her step-daughter, and her six grandchildren. Her memory will continue to live on, and be cherished by her family and the many people who were close to her heart.
The funeral service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 200 Highfield Lane in Nutley on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Englewood.
There will be no public visitation prior to the funeral.
