Charles W. Gruber, 84
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather
Charles W. Gruber passed away on Tuesday, June 19th peacefully at home with his family by his side. Charles was married for 64 years to his high school sweetheart Diane. Also surviving are his devoted children Caryn and her husband Arthur, Judi and her husband Jim and Chuck and his wife Lizzie. He is also survived by his eight loving grandchildren Katie, Chuck, Tom, Teresa, Keith, Dan, Susan and Pia, and his four precious great grandchildren Emilie, Giovanna, Chloe and Jessica.
Charles grew up in Union City, New Jersey, graduated from Newark College of Engineering, lived most of his life in Nutley, New Jersey and spent his entire professional career at ITT, retiring in 1991 as Vice President of their Avionics Division.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23rd at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 797 Valley Road in Clifton at 10 a.m.
The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley from 4-8 p.m. .
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Homes for Our Troops (https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/HomesforOurTroops) would be appreciated.
