Condolence: Clara was, and always will be, my precious Auntie Wawa...the name I gave her as a toddler who couldn't pronounce Clara. She was one of my 3 mothers. In my 70s she referred to my husband and me as "you kids"...nobody else will ever mean it the way she did. Her fierce family loyalty and generosity were the hallmarks of this sweet lady.
You set the bar high, Auntie Wawa...if i had an address I'd send you more chocolates, wine, fresh tomatoes and olive oil in a heartbeat. I am so grateful that you were and still are a part of my life. Thank you for helping me be the man I am today. If there is an afterlife I hope there's a well-equipped and fully stocked kitchen for you to play in. And thanks for tip about putting a whole green pepper in the pot of gravy...yummy!
Miss you real bad, Aunt Clara...I love you.
