Obituary for Conrad Calo
Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather
Conrad Calo, 82, of Nutley, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Born in Passaic, the son of the late Joseph Anthony & Mary (Arietta) Calo, he was a lifelong resident of Nutley. He retired from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority in Secaucus as a supervisor and previously was a barber with Calo Barber Shop in Nutley. Conrad proudly served in the National Guard. Conrad enjoyed eating macaroni and drinking coffee. He will always be remembered for his depth of knowledge, on nearly any topic, from NHL statistics to the origin of Nutella.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol (Smith) Calo, three children, Cheryl Bradford, Christopher and Carl J. Calo and six grandchildren and was predeceased by his son, Conrad Calo, Jr.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
