A Dedicated Family Man
Donald Capanear, of Belleville, passed away Saturday April 28, 2018. Born in Newark, he was the son of the late Filomena (Sivolla) and Michael Capanear. Donald was a lifelong resident of Belleville who loved socializing with everyone and was well respected by all. He enjoyed golfing, cooking, bargains and games of chance. He served in the United States Army and retired from A&F Cutter in Watchung.
The beloved husband of the late Ida (Santoro) Capanear, he is survived by his children, Phyllis Palumbo & her husband Paul, Geralyn Vilar & her husband Dave, and Donald Capanear & his wife Carol; his sister, Marie Vander Zwan; his brothers-in-law, Alfred, Mario & Elio Santoro; his dear friend & companion Theresa Nardone, and 8 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren. He is also predeceased by his brother Michael.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
