Obituary for Fred Viggiano

Fred Viggiano, of Nutley, passed away Saturday, November 09, 2013. Born in Jersey City, he lived there before moving to Nutley 35 years ago. Fred retired from the Property Management & Maintenance Dept. of Grubb & Ellis in Parsippany. Previously, he worked construction for the Carpenters Union in Bloomfield and the Laborers Union Local #325 in Jersey City. Fred was also a car enthusiast and classic movie buff.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Collins) Viggiano; his mother, Carmela (Di Giacomo) Viggiano; two sisters, Lucille Viggiano & her husband, Bob Mongioi and Maria Mistretta & her husband, Frank; his sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, John & Jane Collins, Charlie Collins, Brian & Mary McAlinden, Kathleen & Rob Byrnes, Theresa Collins and Chris Schiereck; 22 nieces & nephews and 20 grandnieces & grandnephews. He was predeceased by his father, Fred Viggiano; two brothers-in-law, Pat Schiereck & Michael Collins and a sister-in-law, Regina Collins.
The funeral will be Wednesday 9 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Nutley at 10 a.m.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, No. Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Holiday Family Treasure Chest Adopt-A-Family Program, c/o Nutley Public Affairs, 149 Chestnut St., Nutley, NJ 07110 would be preferred.
