Obituary for George E. Scott

Retired firefighter, U.S. Navy veteran
George E. Scott of Mountainside and formerly of Belleville, passed away on Wednesday January 3, 2018. Born and raised in Belleville, he was the son of the late Harry and Rose (Ferraro) Scott. George was a Firefighter with the Belleville Fire Department before retiring and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving aboard the USS Canisteo (AO 99). Predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeanne A. (MacMillan) Scott and his brother, Harry, Mr. Scott leaves his daughter, Laurie Scott-Jonach and his grandchildren, Scott and Tori Jonach.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Monday January 8 at 9:30 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 10:30 am.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visiting will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 pm.
