Obituary for Gladys M. McDermott

Gladys (Weir) McDermott of Toms River and formerly of Belleville, passed away on Sunday October 20, 2013. Born in South Hampton, England to John S. and Gladys M. (Hooker) Weir, she lived in Belleville before moving to Toms River in 1978. Mrs. McDermott was an assistant librarian at Nutley High School from 1964 to 1968.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, John A. McDermott in 2006, her parents, her brother, Douglas S. Weir, and her sister, Minnie E. Siciliano, she is survived by her niece Eileen M. Albrecht.
A funeral service will be conducted at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Tuesday at 10:30am followed by burial at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
