Obituary for John P. Calicchio

Retired circulation manager, Navy veteran of World War II
John P. Calicchio of Nutley, passed away on Friday September 1, 2017 at his home. Born and raised in Belleville he was the son of the late Angelo and Rose (Lombardi) Calicchio. Mr. Calicchio came to Nutley 66 years ago and was a circulation manager with Triangle Publications before retiring. John received his Bachelors degree from Seton Hall University and was a member of the Nutley Elks Lodge 1290, the Old Guard of Nutley and was former president of the Nutley American Little League and past president of the Nutley Italian American Club. He was also a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had been inducted into the Hendricks Field Golf Club Hall of Fame.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Angelina (Draghi) Calicchio. He is survived by his sons, John Jr., Michael, Andrew and Paul Calicchio, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, Nick Calicchio.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Wednesday September 6 at 8:30 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30 am followed by entombment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.
Visiting will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad.
