Obituary for John Melillo

Korean War Veteran
John Melillo, 90 of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday September 1, 2017 at his home. Born in Newark, he was the son of the late Gerardo and Emelia (Ciccone) Melillo. John lived in Belleville before coming to Bloomfield 7 years ago and was an assembler with Newark Wire Cloth Co before retiring. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving as a howitzer gunner. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret (Bagileo) Melillo.
He is survived by his daughter, Johanna Complitano, his granddaughter, Stephanie Cucuzza and her husband, Joseph, his great grandson, Joseph Cucuzza, Jr. and many loving nieces and nephews. He was the dear brother of Emil Melillo, Anne Sperduto and the late Nick and Angelo Melillo, Catherine Faria and Marie Molinelli.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday September 7 at 8:30 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30 am followed by the interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Visiting will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
