Obituary for John J. Morella

Member of Team USA
John J. Morella, of Nutley, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Born in Newark, the son of the late Joseph & Phyllis (Salvia) Morella, he was a lifelong resident of Nutley. He was a member of Team USA for Special Olympics for 20 years, earning many awards. He was also a volunteer at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville for several years.
John is survived by his sisters, Theresa Cianci & her late husband, Joseph and Virginia Ugliarolo & her husband Nicholas; his special niece, Melissa Garcia and her mother, Virginia Sansone; his nieces & nephews, Terry Anchundia, Nicholas Ugliarolo, Jr., Joseph Ugliarolo and their spouses and children; his uncle John Morella & his wife, Linda and his aunt, the late, Marie Morella.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
