Obituary for Joseph J. La Scala

General Contractor
Joseph J. La Scala, of Montville, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Born in Newark, the son of the late Albina A. (Fritelli) & Salvatore La Scala he was raised in Nutley and lived in Morristown prior to moving to Montville 41 years ago.
Joseph was a general contractor and owner of Bell Mill Construction Co. in Belleville prior to his retirement. He also served in the Army Reserves.
He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine (Donadia) La Scala; 4 children, Joseph J. Jr., Thomas D., Jamie Ann & John S. La Scala and 6 grandchildren, Joseph, Gianna, Thomas, Dominic, Lina & Victor.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:45 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 10:45 a.m.
The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in No. Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Grace Healthcare Services, 105 Fieldcrest Ave., Suite #402, Edison, NJ 08837 would be preferred.
