Obituary for Lorraine E. Ahrens

Retired court clerk
Lorraine E. Ahrens of Belleville passed away peacefully at home on Thursday March 1, 2018. Born on December 18, 1937 and raised in Jersey City, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Johnson) Leonard. Mrs. Ahrens moved to Belleville in 1985 and was a court clerk with the Jersey City Municipal Court before retiring.
Lorraine will be remembered for her deep love and devotion for her family. She was strong, giving, selfless and tireless in her care for others. Her loving kindness and wit endeared her to all who knew her. Although sickness took her from us too soon, it never took her from the arms of her heavenly Father in whose mansion she now dwells and where we will one day be reunited with her.
Lorraine is loved and survived by her beloved and deeply devoted husband of 62 years, George Ahrens; by her children, Deborah Wilson, Doris Rogers, Anita, Charles, George and Brenda Ahrens; by her grandchildren, Stephanie Jones, Christopher Wilson, Miguel Paniagua, Andria Ahrens, Jacob and Erika Borrero, Nia Ahrens and David D’Amico; and by her great grandchildren, Brianna and Marina Wilson and Emma and Carly Jones. She is predeceased by her beloved grandson, Joseph Rogers. Though gone from us, she will live on in us and through us.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Monday March 5 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm to remember Lorraine and to celebrate the blessing she was to all of us.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at River of Life Assembly of God, 174 Holmes St, Belleville on Tuesday March 6 at 10:30 am.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s NJ.
