Beloved Wife, Cherished Mother and Grandmother
Maria “Mary” Fortunato formerly of Belleville, NJ passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 after an extended battle with breast cancer.
Mrs. Fortunato was born in Newark to the late Luigi & Elsie (Silvestri) LaLuna. She lived in Nutley for a short time prior to moving to Belleville where she spent most of her life, then she moved to Howell 11 years ago. Mrs. Fortunato was a homemaker and hairdresser. A woman who always put her family first and supplied endless amounts of love and support is the beloved wife of the late John C. Fortunato.
She is survived by her children, Mary-Louise Fortunato, Rosanne Schell and her husband John, Angela Mastando and her husband Michael, Diane Ostlin and her husband William and John A. Fortunato, her 7 grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Arielle, Sherilyn, Madison, John and Eric, 1 sister Carmella Lisante and 2 brothers, Archino and John LaLuna.
The funeral will be 9:30 AM Monday, May 8, 2017 from S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre Street, Nutley, NJ.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 10:30 AM.
The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be preferred.
