Obituary for Marjorie M. Joyner

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and surrogate mom to many
Marjorie M. Joyner, peacefully passed away on Friday April 28, 2017 in the comfort of her home. Born in Beaumont, Texas, she lived in Newark for several years before moving to Nutley where she resided for 60 years.
Marjorie’s loving and devoted nature will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and the community. Her unselfish generosity was greatly appreciated by all who came to her seeking guidance, wisdom, love, and support. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Arthur L. Joyner and her beloved son Paul. She is survived by her sons, John, Dwight, Keith, Andrew and her daughter, Kim Lewis and her, devoted son-in-law, John Edgar Lewis, Sr. She leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many dear friends , and a lifelong friend Geneva (Nanna) VanDerveer. Marjorie was the dear sister of the late Robert (Bob) Martin, Leonard (Leo) Balque, Alphonse Jr. and Annabelle Davis.
Relatives and friends will be received, for a viewing, at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday May 3rd from 3:00-7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Monsignor Owens Place, Nutley, NJ, at 10:45 am.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.
