Obituary for Mark A. Petrik

Mark A. Petrik of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday March 18, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the loving son of Thomas and Eleanor (Woods) Petrik. Mark was raised in Nutley and moved to Bloomfield 15 years ago. He was an assistant parts department manager at BMW of Bloomfield. Mark was also a generous soul, who will be remembered by all those who knew him as a walking encyclopedia of knowledge and being a talented and created artist, problem solver and for his smile and laugh. He was a former member of the Bloomfield High School Music Parents Association. Mark also enjoyed riding his Harley, driving his Jeep Wrangler and was a fan of Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the “Peanuts” characters.
Along with his parents, Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta “Bert” (Gerber) Petrik, his daughter Sarah, his sister, Nancy Menendez & her husband Michael and his canine companion, Jordi. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Jean Gerber, his sister-in-law, Christine Roberts & her husband, Chad, his brother-in-law, Robert Gerber & his wife, Yen & their daughter, San and his brother-in-law, Edward Czech.
Relatives and friends will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Friday March 23 from 5-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a memorial GoFundMe page (www.gofundme.com/send-mark-on-his-last-adventure) or the A.S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.
