Obituary for Patricia Marie Rush
Active in church and local community
Patricia Marie (Kenney) Rush, a longtime resident of Nutley, passed away on November 25, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Newark, she was the only child of the late Luke and Marie Kenney. For 58 years, Pat lived in Nutley where she raised her family and was a longtime parishioner, Eucharistic minister, lector and volunteer at St. Mary’s Church. She worked for the Nutley Board of Education and the Nutley Public Library and enjoyed her continued love of learning at various colleges around the state. Pat never met a book she didn’t love and was compassionate in assisting other with respect and kindness.
She was the wife of Robert J. Rush; mother of Ann Marie Donohue and her husband, Tom; Aileen Hresko and husband, Joe; Peggy Dreker; Robert K. Rush and his wife Patty; Joan T. Rush and was predeceased by her sons, Chris, Daniel and Tim. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St. Nutley on Tuesday November 28 at 8:30 am.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Nutley at 9:30 am
The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.
Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 pm.
Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions to the St. Mary’s Church Restoration Fund, 17 Msgr. Owens Pl, Nutley, NJ 07110 would be appreciated.
