Obituary for Richard A. Pesci

Retired General Contractor
Richard Anthony Pesci, Sr., 72, of Forked River, NJ (formally of Nutley, NJ) passed away at Holy Name Medical Center on January 10, 2018. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Frances J (Ilaria) Pesci. He was the beloved husband of Louise (Grandinetti) Pesci. Richard and Louise were happily married for 53 years. He is the adored father of Richard Anthony Pesci, Jr. and his wife, Deborah (DiCosta) Pesci, John Nicholas Pesci and his wife, Lori Ann (Carillo) Pesci, and Christopher Michael Pesci and his late wife, Christina (Bufano) Pesci. Richard was the beloved brother-in-law of Nicholas Grandinetti and his wife, Donna (Zaffina) Grandinetti and the most-loved uncle to his niece, Ann Lauren Grandinetti. Richard is cherished by his seven grandchildren; Richard Anthony III, Matthew, Christina, Miranda, Anthony, Robert, and Cristian. He is survived by his sister Joyce (Pesci) Bertuglia and her husband, Joseph Bertuglia and is predeceased by his brother, Louis Pesci.
Richard spent a lifetime working in the construction business for Louis Pesci and Sons and several large construction companies. He always enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, and spending time at the Jersey Shore especially when surrounded by all his family and friends at the Seventh Avenue beach in Seaside Park, NJ. Richard also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other close family members and friends who will always treasure the memories they shared with him.
The funeral service will be held at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The viewing will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
There will be a memorial service held in April on the beach in Seaside Park which was Richard’s favorite place on earth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association would be preferred.
