Obituary for Rocco "Rocky" Westpy

Retired Belleville Police Officer, U.S. Navy veteran
Rocco “Rocky” Westpy of Barnegat and formerly of Belleville, passed away on Saturday November 11, 2017 at his home. Born and raised in Belleville, he was the son of the late Guy and Maria (Roberto) Westpy. Mr. Westpy moved to Barnegat 30 years ago and was a retired Belleville Police Officer. He was a member of the Belleville PBA Local #28 and a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War serving as a corpsman aboard the U.S.S. Mathews. He also volunteered with Ken’s Kitchen at St. Mary’s Church in Barnegat. Rocky is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Lucille (Pomarico) Westpy, his loving children, Anne Petrasek and husband, Joseph, Guy Westpy and wife Amy, Gina Fogel, Joseph Westpy and wife, Moira and Jonathan Westpy and wife, Maureen. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, his brother Alex Crivellone and his sister, Mildred Armeno.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Wednesday November 15 at 10 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Belleville at 11 am followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Visiting will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ken’s Kitchen, St. Mary’s Parish PO Box 609 Barnegat, NJ 08005 or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
