Obituary for Sabatino J. "Sam" Paparatto

World War II Army Veteran
Sabatino J. “Sam” Paparatto, of West Orange, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his home. Born in Italy, the son of the late Giuseppe & Caterina (Messina) Paparatto, he lived in Belleville and Nutley prior to moving to West Orange four years ago.
An Army Veteran of World War II, he worked as a sheet metal mechanic with Edson Tool in Belleville for 39 years before his retirement in 1985. Sam was a member of the Old Guard of Nutley, the AARP of Nutley and the Belleville Seniors Wednesday Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Rose (Maffia) Paparatto, four sons, Joseph & his wife Maria, Michael & his wife Alice, Thomas and Sabatino J. “Sam” Paparatto & his wife Laura; five grandchildren, Eric, Steven, Michael & Nina; also two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Marcia and his grandson, Mark.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home.
The Funeral Liturgy of the Word & Blessing will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10 a.m.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m.
