Obituary for Salvatore Vitale
Retired Corrections Officer
Salvatore Vitale passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Born in Newark, the son of the late Josephine (D’Avanze) & Frank Vitale, he was a lifelong resident of Newark. Before his retirement, Salvatore was a Corrections Officer with the Essex County Department of Corrections. He was also an avid golfer at Hendrick’s Field in Belleville.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Eleanora (Voltolin) Vitale; his son, Frank Anthony Vitale & His wife, Theresa; 2 grandchildren, Salvatore & Frank A. Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren, Salvatore, Madeline, Hayley & Daniel and 2 brothers, Carmine & Jerry. He was predeceased by his sisters, Michelina Puccio & Katie Piegaro and 3 brothers, Frank, Joseph & Anthony.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley at 11 a.m.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
