Obituary for Theresa R. Scarpello

Theresa R. Scarpello, a lifelong resident of Belleville, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 10, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Sal Robert and Nancy (Strumolo) Prezioso. Theresa was an interviewer with the Internal Revenue Service in Newark for 30 years before retiring in 1987. A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Theresa is survived by her children, Danielle Gamaro, Stephen Scarpello and his wife, Therese, her grandchildren, Tracy Arzamendi and her husband, Manuel, Gina Caporaso and her husband, Dennis and Thomas P. Gamaro and his wife, Kelly and her great grandson, Tres Arzamendi. She also leaves her sisters, Josephine Maglio and Caroline Carchio and her husband, Anthony.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church 63 Franklin St. in Belleville on Friday June 16 at 11 am.
Entombment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield. There will be no visitation prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
