Obituary for Thomas J. Gonzales

I.T. Specialist, Vietnam veteran
Thomas J. Gonzales, 73 of Nutley, passed away on Friday December 22, 2017 at his home. Born and raised in Hoboken, he lived in Long Valley before coming to Nutley in 1974. Mr. Gonzales was Assistant Vice President of I.T. for UBS, previously Paine Webber, in Weehawken, NJ and after retiring, was a car salesman with Ozzie’s Ford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 70 in Nutley. He attended St. Peter’s College and was also a member of the St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus and the Men’s Scripture Study Group at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He will be missed by many loving and kind friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith (Mai) Gonzales, his son Ian and his daughter, Katelyn Velaochaga and her husband, Alex.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday December 28 at 9 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bloomfield at 10 am followed by burial at Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery in Long Valley.
Visiting will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nutley Volunteer Emergency & Rescue Squad (www.nutleyrescue.org) or Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org)
