World War II Merchant Marine & Essex County Police Sergeant
Vincent J. Pedalino, of Brick, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Born in Belleville, the son of the late Michelina (Macaluso) & Francesco Pedalino, he lived in Belleville then to Nutley prior to moving to Brick 32 years ago. He retired as a sergeant from the Essex County Police Department. Vincent served in the Merchant Marines on the S.S. John W. Brown during World War II. Vincent was also the treasurer of the Dennis A. Roland Chapter of the American Merchant Marine Veterans.
The beloved husband of the late Rose (Zoppa) Pedalino, he is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Milano; a son, Vincent Pedalino; his companion, Rita Early; a brother, Michael Pedalino; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by a son, Michael Pedalino; 3 sisters, Mary La Mura, Sylvia Borruso & Virginia Pedalino and 6 brothers, Peter, Joseph, Frank, Salvatore, Vito & Carmen.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 5-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Project Liberty Ship, P.O. Box 25846 Highlandtown Station, Baltimore, MD 21224-0546 would be preferred.
